Our Brother, Bill Murray

Good Morning Everyone!

It is with a heavy heart that we pass on the news that our brother, Bill Murray has gone home to be with the Lord.  I just received a call from Tony Dariano who is heading to be with the family at the hospital.  This is a deep and personal loss to our church family, so our hearts are full of grief and we have a taste of the loss that Bill's loved ones are experiencing.

Bill was not in the best of health, but his passing is quite unexpected.  He was at church yesterday morning with Linda, his wife.  We don't know exactly what happened physically, but we do understand that it was sudden and peaceful.

I'm thankful that Bill is with the Lord he loves so dearly and that his journey now continues in the splendor, joy, and wonder of heaven.  And we are blessed to have known Bill and to have had the Lord use Him in our lives.  Please pray for Linda, for Bill's family, and for his friends!

When we have info on arrangements, we'll pass it along.

May the Lord comfort the broken-hearted and be near to those who mourn!

Hope Notes 3/26/15

Dear Friends of Hope ~

I love photography.  I love being able to capture one single moment in time.  I come from the old school process of using film. I used to love standing in the darkroom, watching the latent images come to life as I swirled the photosensitive paper in the (smelly) chemicals.  Now we have digital cameras and the moments we capture come to life instantly on the screen before us.  What strikes me as funny is how many times your subjects will look at their image and request a do-over.  Never mind that it was a real moment caught by the camera; they want it to look 'better'. I find the same philosophy to be true with many people who are waiting to either come to Christ or to deepen their relationship with Him.  They want to look better, do better, BE better before they feel they are worthy of His love.  If they could, I'm sure they would 'Photoshop' all their flaws away.  But God does not need or want us to be perfect before we come to Him.  In fact, He already SEES us as pretty much perfect. Ephesians 1:4 says, "For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight."  Pretty cool, isn't it?! So don't waste any more time waiting until you look better before running to God.  It absolutely isn't necessary!  And really, neither are all those digital 'do-overs'!!

SUNDAY MORNING MESSAGE

March 29 – Jesus' Friends (John 15:14-17)

What does it take to be your friend?  Maybe you're good at choosing friends and the ones you have are dependable, loyal, and fun. You may have had some bad experiences with friendship, finding that those you trusted turned out to be destructive or even creepy. When their pictures come up in your album, you hit delete!  Did you know that Jesus has friends?  Of course, we know about the disciples.  Judas was a part of that group, identified as a 'friend'.  But Jesus has more friends than just those at the Last Supper – and He tells us who they are.  The great part is that you too can be a friend of Jesus!

GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE

April 3rd @ 7:00

Join us as we commemorate the ultimate sacrifice – Jesus taking on every one of our sins and giving His life so that we could live eternally with Him.  We will have music, Scripture reading and communion that helps us to reflect on God's incredible mercy.

Hope Notes 3/19/15

Dear Friends of Hope ~

One of my favorite Sundays of the year is coming up this week!  It's our Teen Service.  We are so privileged to have our teens leading the service and serving the body of Christ.  I love seeing them step up and take on the normal 'adult' roles.  Don't doubt their ability; they are capable of so much more than we give them credit for!  It makes the service so much more special to me when our young people are standing in front of us with their eyes and hearts aglow for our Lord.  They bring an energy and enthusiasm that is uniquely their own.  It just turns up the 'volume' on the passion and vitality of the service!  Make sure you are here on Sunday and let our teens breathe some new life into our spirits!

SUNDAY MORNING MESSAGE

March 22 – Teen Service

GET UP (Ecclesiastes 12:1 and Ephesians 5:15-17)

Following Christ at any age is a difficult task. But young people face unique challenges, or at least they face them in a unique way which adds to the difficulty of being a committed follower of Christ. Young or old, your call is not to put off following Christ, but to get up and live in the freedom of Christ now. It's time for you to get up and make a difference. It's also time for you to help others do the same.

Hope Notes 3/12/15

Dear Friends of Hope ~

Some of you may know we have a wedding coming up in our family (9 days, but who's counting?!).  Along with all the logistical preparations comes one very special one for the bride-to-be: the hair & makeup that will transform her into a radiant bride! Having just seen this transformation done on a trial basis, it got me to thinking.  Most women love to watch makeover shows or see the 'before & after' pictures in magazines.  We like to imagine the possibilities of going from plain to fancy.  But how about GOD'S makeover??!!  There is nothing here on earth that can compare!  Philippians 3:20-21 tells us that………."we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will TRANSFORM our lowly body to be like HIS glorious body, by the power that enable him even to subject all things to himself".  Talk about a transformation!  We become transformed, glorified, and immortal just like Jesus.  I can't even wrap my head around it, but I know that I would much rather have that kind of makeover than one involving just lipstick and mascara!

SUNDAY MORNING MESSAGE

March 15 – Complete Joy, Greater Love (John 15:9-13)

Which are you more likely to do: what you love to do or what you have to do?  Is there a difference between enjoying your work and being good at it? While everyone knows that we are more reliable, creative, and productive in tasks that we love and enjoy, we somehow take the biggest opportunity of all and turn it into dry duty.  But Jesus did not envision this type of life for His followers.  In fact, He talked about having joy that is complete.  He even describes a love so great that it willingly lays down its life for another. Is it possible that we miss experiencing what Jesus wants for our lives?

GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE

April 3rd @ 7:00

Join us as we commemorate the ultimate sacrifice – Jesus taking on every one of our sins and giving His life so that we could live eternally with Him.  We will have music, Scripture reading and communion that helps us to reflect on God's incredible mercy.

Ø  Prayer Time - 8:30 in prayer room

PRAYER HUDDLE

Our Sunday morning prayer time is open to everyone at 8:30 am in the Prayer Room. We pray for the services that morning and for the needs in the church. If you would like to participate, just show up!

HAVE OUR ELDERS PRAY WITH YOU

The New Testament has this wonderful ministry for the elders of a church - PRAYER.  And we'd like to offer it to anyone who is in need of healing (physical or otherwise) or who needs the power of God to be at work in their lives in a special way.  If you or anyone you know would like to take advantage of this ministry, contact Pastor Mark to set up a time after one of our Sunday services for the elders to pray over you.

BUMPER STICKERS & DECALS

Coming March 15th

We are getting ready to 'unveil' our new decals and bumper stickers!  We are giving them out for FREE, so we are asking that you please take just one per car.  Our tee shirts will also be available for a mere $10 each!  It's fun to have these different ways to spread the word about our church!

PRAYER REQUESTS

Second Service - Please pray for God's leading, provision, and strength as we move forward with two services!

Financial Needs – The recent bad weather has put us behind financially for the year and we need to catch up!  We also need to make some progress SOON on our Emergency Fund and Boiler Replacement.  Please join us in asking the Lord to provide for us in those areas.

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people." Ephesians 6:18

Awaiting His Glorious Transformation,
Lois
