Hope Notes 12-27-2007

Dear Friends of Hope ~
How can it be the last weekend of 2007 already? Now is a good time to reflect on all God has done for us throughout the past year.  He is always at work in our hearts and in our lives, preparing us for what lies ahead.  Thank you, Lord, that you hold our future firmly in Your mighty hands!

SUNDAY SERVICE - MISSIONARY SUNDAY
Our missionary, Lauren Pupchick, is a wonderful young lady who has served as a missionary to Guatemala for years.  Hope is honored to support her on a monthly basis as she serves the Lord and shares the hope that can only be found in Jesus Christ with the children and families that God has sent her to.  Join us as Lauren shares what God has been doing in her life and mission, and let's be reminded of our call to spread the hope of the gospel to everyone!
SPECIAL NOTE:  Pastor Mark and Dana would like to again express their gratitude and appreciation for their church family at Hope and for your generosity at this Christmas season.  Your gift was overwhelming and a true blessing.  Thank you so much!

Hope Notes 12-20-2007

Dear Friends of Hope ~

We are only days away from celebrating the most important birthday there is - the birth of our Savior. Let us take time to really let the magnitude of what God has given to us penetrate our souls.  Jesus Christ, His Son.  The gift of love that began in a manger and ended at the cross.

SUNDAY SERVICE - CHRISTMAS SUNDAY!
We have a special gift for all teens & adults!
He is Our Savior (Is 53:4-6 & Mat 1:18-23)
We need help. All of us have messed up and failed in our lives, and all of us will over and over again.  This leads many to believe that the best we can hope for is that our good outweighs our bad, and hopefully, that will be enough.  The Christmas story has more to offer than that uncertain wish.  Jesus came because our good will never be good enough, so we need to be rescued.  That's why His name is Jesus - He's our Savior!

CD'S AVAILABLE
Please remember that our services are available on CD immediately following the service for FREE!  Pick up a copy for yourself or for anyone they want to share Hope with.  Pastor Mark's messages are also available on our website, www.hopechristianfellowship.org.

BIBLE READING FOR DECEMBER - 2 Thessalonians
In his second letter to the Thessalonians, Paul explains what has to take place before Christ's return.  He reminds the church to continue praying, to live holy and godly lives, and to be patient.  It's a reminder we still need today.

Hi Everyone!  This is Pastor Mark

I need to ask for your prayer and possibly your help.  We have a family at church who is in need of a place to live.  They need to move from the place they have been staying in the immediate future, and need a place with 2 or 3 bedrooms.  If you know of any possibilities, please contact John Brazelis at 856-262-2337.  Or you can email me by replying to this email, and I'll pass the information on to them!

Please pray that the Lord will provide a new place to live for this family during this Christmas Season!

Thank you all - Pastor Mark

Hope Notes 12-13-2007

Dear Friends of Hope ~
Christmas is quickly approaching! (A little too quickly maybe?) Let's not allow the stress of the season to overshadow the real joy this time of year can bring as we remember the incredible gift God has given us in His son Jesus. A gift that not only changed the world, but continues to change it one life at a time... talk about a gift that keeps on giving!

SUNDAY SERVICE:
This Sunday is our Children's Christmas Program!  Parents, please be sure to have your child at church by 10:30 for the final run through before worship.  This is a great opportunity to invite friends and family to church! Contact Emily Hartwell  eshartwell@gmail.com with any questions.

Pastor Mark will also bring a short challenge continuing his Christmas Message Series: "What Child is This?"

HE IS OUR FRIEND  (JOHN 15:15)
Jesus came to be "God with us" – Emmanuel!  Last week, we saw that He is the King – to be worshipped and praised.  But this week, we see another profound truth from Jesus' very own words.  He came to be our friend!  It is God's very nature to reach out in love to each one of us.  So many in our world are scared of God and see Him only as the Judge who will hold us accountable for our sin.  Yet, Jesus came on that Christmas morning to show us that God wants to know us – and for us to know Him.  He wants us to share a relationship that fills every day with the friendship of our Creator!

Dear Friends of Hope ~
Are you feeling the pressure of the holidays?  Are you already stressed over shopping, entertaining, and gift wrapping?  Make sure you stop and take time each day to plug into your best source of strength - our Lord.  Read His Word, talk with Him, ask Him to be in charge of your day.  Things will go along much better!

SUNDAY SERVICE
He is Our King  (Acts 2:36 & Phil. 2:6-11)
The Christmas story is more than a nice story about a baby born on a starlit night.  Babies often stir emotions of kindness and peace in our hearts.  But this baby was special - and the stories in the Bible clearly point this out!  He was born in a humble barn, but was greeted by angels and kings.  Have you come to worship and embrace the King of the universe that we celebrate at Christmas?  The Bible teaches that we ALL will one day - why not today?

CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

Parents, please be sure to have your child at church by 10:30 for the final run through before worship.  This is a great opportunity to invite friends and family to church!  Who wouldn't want to see one of these precious children singing Christmas songs (or running off crying to Mom)?!  Contact Emily Hartwell eshartwell@gmail.com with any questions.
