Hope Notes 5-31-2007

Dear Friends of Hope ~
If anyone missed the service last Sunday, please be sure to stop by the sound table and pick up a copy of the cd.  You can also link directly to Hope's website to listen to the message at http://www.hopechristianfellowship.org
Pastor Mark's reminders of the little things we all need to be doing to keep Hope a vital ministry are so important.  You really don't want to miss this message!

SUNDAY SERVICE
A Heart Filled with Peace (Col 3:15-17)
Need a break?  We're all looking for some peace in our hearts.  Some of us try to avoid this problem by being so busy, we never have to look inside.  Others of us fret over the turmoil inside to the point that we spiral downward into depression.  And most of us believe that we're not normal, since everyone else seems to have more peace in their lives than we do!  God wants to GIVE us peace to the depths of our soul - RIGHT NOW!  Will we let Him?

BIBLE READING FOR JUNE - 2 PETER
Peter challenges us to take seriously God's call to live a life pleasing to Him.  The day will come when the heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.  "Since everything around us is going to melt away," Peter asks, "what holy, godly lives you should be living!  You should look forward to that day and hurry it along."  Pretty good advice!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

GIVING REPORT FOR MAY
We averaged $1877/week this month.  This is our lowest average for the year so far, and significantly below our target of $2200/week.  It is vital as we work to save for a building that we remain faithful and committed to our giving.  Please prayerfully consider what you can give to the cause here at Hope!

SAINTS PRISON MINISTRY UPDATE
Bill McGinness is once again working with the Prison Ministry this summer.  He still needs to raise $1200 in order to be able to serve on this team.  We would ask everyone to prayerfully consider supporting him.  This is a very effective ministry; over SEVEN HUNDRED prisoners came to Christ last summer!  Checks can be made out to Saints Prison Ministry and given to his wife Melissa, Pastor Mark, or placed in a marked envelope in the offering box.

THIS WEEK'S WORKERS ARE:

PRAYER REQUESTS
BRAD HOPKINS - Hospitalized with flare up from Chron's disease (Underwood Hospital)
Pamela Brian & Jason Fein - Our daughter,Rose, is having health issues and is undergoing testing to determine what's wrong.
Dan Bradshaw - For God's wisdom and guidance in making college and career choices.
Bill & Jamie Medlar - For God to provide a way out of their current living situation.
Ed Yost - Health: healing for his back.  Financial: Provision for property taxes.
Angela Hickey - Continuing back problems
Bob & Lisa Mousely - For baby RJ's health - he remains in Children's Hospital.  He irritates his airway when he cries and sometimes shuts down his breathing.  The doctors are hoping for growth and healing so that this problem resolves on its own.  Otherwise, they will need to put in a tube to help him breathe.  Pray that he will be able to heal quickly - and for Bob and Lisa as they go through this situation with their newborn son!
Hope Christian Fellowship - PROVISION and DIRECTION on our search for our home - a permanent location for our church
Employment Needs - Angela Hickey (Communications), Mike Elliot (IT / Computers), Donnamarie Mannall (Dental Assistant)

Help us to remember to pray, Lord.  Not just for these specific requests, but "in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Ph 4:6

A Life That is Changed,

Lois
