Hope Notes 5-17-2007

Dear Friends of Hope ~

SUNDAY SERVICE
Try On Your New Clothes (Col 3:10-14)
Tired of wearing the same old outfits?  Our world goes through styles and fashions faster than most of us can keep up with!  But what about spiritually?  Did you realize that God has given you an entirely new and beautiful outfit that you can wear everyday?  His styles tends toward the amazing, and if we will put on these new clothes, everyone will see that God's power is at work in us.

BIBLE READING FOR MAY - 1 SAMUEL
If this book gives us one vital message, it is this: There is no limit to what a person committed to God can do. Remember the battle between the boy David and the giant Goliath?  You'll find that story in Chapter 17.  Samuel (whose name means "asked of God") was a courageous prophet and the man who crowned Israel's first two kings, one of whom was David.

SAINTS PRISON MINISTRY
Bill McGinness is once again working with the Prison Ministry this summer.  He needs to raise $1400 in order to be able to serve on this team.  We would ask everyone to prayerfully consider supporting him.  This is a very effective ministry; over SEVEN HUNDRED prisoners came to Christ last summer!  Checks can be made out to Saints Prison Ministry and given to his wife Melissa, Pastor Mark, or placed in a marked envelope in the offering box.
