Hope Notes 10-15-2005

Dear Friends of Hope ~

Thank you to all who shared their testimonies during our service this past Sunday.  I don't believe anyone could walk away from that and doubt God's existence.  He is alive and working in the lives of His people.  May you take encouragement and hope from everything that was said.

We look forward to welcoming Pastor Mark and his family back this Sunday!  Praise God that they have been able to enjoy some much needed time together to relax and have fun.

This has been a rainy, rainy week.  Let's pray the skies will clear by this weekend so that we can enjoy the SCARECROW HOLLOW CORNFIELD MAZE on Saturday, 10/15 from 4-9pm.  Admission $10.00 includes corn maze, courtyard, hay ride, face painting and kids craft.  The facility also has pumpkin picking, rope maze, swings, hay bale maze, etc.  OR you can do just the Corn Maze with Children under 4 free, Ages 4-11 $5.00, Ages 12 & up $7.00.
The Corn Maze is designed over a 6 acre section.  Each person has to obtain 10 clues using your map.  There is also a "Moonlight Flashlight Maze" until 9:00pm.  Parents Note: There are NO haunted attractions.  There will be a sign up at church.  Contact Debbie Bradshaw with any questions 223-9728 or visit the website at www.scarecrowhollow.org.

ADULT FELLOWSHIP at Brian & Naidona Ott's home (Sr High & Up) October 28th.  We plan to start this evening of fellowship with a HAYRIDE!  We will meet at "The Rock" camp on Delsea Dr. in Franklinville at 5:45.  Cost is $6 per person.  Be sure to sign up to reserve your spot!  Afterwards, we will head over to Brain & Naidona's for a time of fellowship and fun (probably some good snacks, too!).  If you can't make the hayride, just come on over to the Ott's.

ADULT VOLLEYBALL (Sr High & Up) November 11th from 7-9:00pm.  We are making arrangements to use the Five Points Volleyball center.  We may even be able to get a basketball court that night!  There will be a slight charge, but it will be well worth it to have an evening of fun, exercise, and (I'm sure) some good hearted competition!

ADULT CHRISTMAS PARTY (yes- Sr High & Up) coming up on December 16th.  Mark your calendars now, we know how busy that time of year gets!

I am very excited about a new Bible study for our teenage girls, GIRLS OF HOPE.
This is for girls 6th -12th grade.  I know it sounds like a big age group, but remember, God has His hand in this and we can work together.  If you think you might be interested, please put your name on the sign-up along with what nights / location would be best for you.  That way, we can design a study that meets your needs.  I am really looking forward to starting the study and connecting with all of our girls.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD is starting up.  We have pamphlets on the side table with details and instructions.  Basically, you fill a shoebox with goodies for a boy or girl, wrap it up, and bring it to Hope no later than Sunday, November 13th.  See Melissa McGinness with any questions.

The WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY meets here at Hope from 7:00 - 8:30 (or so).  We are winding up our study of Galatians.  This is a super way to get to know God's Word, give yourself a mid-week spiritual boost, and get connected to fellow "friends of Hope".  We do provide child care.

WORKERS NEEDED
We are still in great need of volunteers for our children's ministry. You can help with infants, toddlers, pre-school, and right on up through 6th graders!  If teaching is not your gift, don't worry.  We can always use helpers!

THIS WEEK'S WORKERS ARE:

PRAYER REQUESTS
  • For Hope Christian Fellowship to find a permanent home for our ministry

Help us to remember to pray, Lord.  Not just for these specific requests, but "in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."Ph 4:6

Thankful for His mercy,

Lois
