Hope Notes 8-23-2007

Dear Friends of Hope ~
Can you believe the summer is beginning to wind down already?  Here at Hope our thoughts are starting to turn towards autumn, which always means the start of new programs and the re-starting of some programs/groups that have "taken the summer off".  This is an exciting time as we prepare for these changes; please remember to keep Hope in your prayers for the Lord's direction in all matters.

SUNDAY SERVICE
Confessions of a Proud Man (Daniel 4)
Pride is a very deep rooted reality in our world and in our lives.  We don't like to confess our weaknesses; instead we like to cover them.  If we do have some success, we want everyone to see it and fill our ears with praise.  King Nebuchadnezzar was a proud man, but God humbled him.  Was God mad at the king?  Not exactly.  You see, God cares enough for each of us that He will show us the emptiness of our pride and bring our hearts to realize that God is our hope, our help, our strength, and the answer for our lives!

IMMEDIATE NEED
We have a family who recently moved and is in need of basic household items such as kitchen utensils, plates, cooking tools, bathroom supplies, cleaning supplies, etc.  Anything you can contribute to their need would help them greatly - AND show them the love of Jesus in action!  Please bring in whatever you can this Sunday and next Sunday.

BIBLE READING FOR AUGUST- PSALMS BOOKS 3-73-89
The Psalms give us a beautiful glimpse of the nature of God, of His undying love for us, and of what true love for God is like.  They have provided comfort and encouragement to believers for thousands of years, and they will do the same for you.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR FELLOWSHIP

Leah & Chris Sparks welcomed their new baby girl Sunday 8/19!  Anyone interested in helping to provide a meal for them as Leah recovers from the birth and they settle in with their newest "addition" should contact Sissel Salayda at (856)-881-0770.
There are another couple families in need of some meals as well - see Sissel for more information.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY CHANGE
Starting in September, children in 6th grade and up  will be staying in worship with their parents.  We have such a large number of children in the Children's Program (praise God!) that we made the decision to move the cut off from 7th grade to 6th.
