Hope Notes 10-09-2008

Dear Friends of Hope ~

As we grow, we need to be sure we take the time to get to know one another. Not just the new faces, but the faces we've gotten accustomed to worshipping with over the years. Did you ever stop and realize that you've seen so and so for three years now and don't really know anything about them? Attending small groups and events like the upcoming Potluck Supper can help us. Let's make the effort and make deeper relationships!

SUNDAY SERMON - COMMUNION SUNDAY

10/12 – Dealing with Liars and Their Lies (Titus 1:10-16)

The work of God's people primarily is a struggle to hold onto and declare the truth. Our enemy is a master of lies. He will often send his workers into the church - or into our lives – to try to fill everything with deceit. How do we deal with those who fight against the truth? Paul gave instructions to Titus on how to deal with this problem at the church on Crete. We will look at this teaching from Paul and learn how we need to deal with this attack as a church, and how we need to recognize those who would destroy the truth.

UPCOMING COMMUNION SERVICES

November 30th

CD'S AVAILABLE

Please remember that our services are available on CD immediately following the service for FREE! Pick up a copy for yourself or for anyone they want to share Hope with. Pastor Mark's messages are also available on our website, www.hopechristianfellowship.org.

SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER TIME

Our Sunday morning prayer time is open to everyone who attends. We will be starting at 9:15 am in one of the classrooms. We pray for the services that morning and for the needs in the church.

BIBLE READING FOR OCTOBER - JOB

Job was rich, married with ten children, and had the respect of his peers. Most importantly, he loved God. Yet God allowed Satan to test Job by taking everything from him. His wife told him to "curse God and die" and his three "friends" kept insisting he must have done something horrible to deserve his fate. Job knew that wasn't true; and although he never got an answer as to why he had to suffer, he got something much better. But you'll have to read for yourself to find out what!
