Hope Notes6-19-2008

Dear Friends of Hope ~
Graduations abound this time of year. But one thing we never "graduate" from is the process of learning and growing through God's Word. There is always more to know, to understand. Sometimes it seems like the more we know, the more we realize we don't know! The Bible is God's love letter to us - meant to guide us through life. Be sure to take some time every day to learn from Him and allow Him to speak to you through His Word.
SUNDAY SERMON
It Takes a Team (Nehemiah 3)
Independence is a very appealing idea. But as much as it appeals to our pride, this life is not meant to be lived alone or on our own. We all need teammates. Nehemiah recognized this in his calling to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and he takes time to list those who were part of his team. Each task requires someone who is willing to pay attention to detail and put in their very best effort. In every big task of our lives, we need teammates who are willing to each do their part - just as we need to be willing to do ours. We succeed together or we fail together - and in that way, we are truly a team!

CD'S AVAILABLE
Please remember that our services are available on CD immediately following the service for FREE! Pick up a copy for yourself or for anyone they want to share Hope with. Pastor Mark's messages are also available on our website, www.hopechristianfellowship.org.
BIBLE READING FOR JUNE - GENESIS
Genesis means "beginnings" and that's what this book is about! It tells of the creation of the universe and how God brought us into this world. It also tells of how sin intruded into the world and ruined what had been a perfect relationship between God and His most prized creation - us. Genesis tells of another beginning, too. It tells how God began to work out His plan for our salvation through His chosen people.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
CHURCH MOVE UPDATE - MEETING THIS SUNDAY
There will be a meeting right after church Sunday 6/22 for a discussion and partner vote on our upcoming church move - the lease at the synagogue, the new service time (10:00am), and the expenditures for the move. Also, help will be needed for the potential move on the 28th for our first service there on the 29th.
SPECIAL PROJECT: HELP IN OUR SEARCH FOR A PERMANENT LOCATION
We'd also like to ask anyone who feels that God has done some wonderful things in their life through the ministry of Hope to please write a paragraph or two describing what has happened in your life through this church. We want to have a stack of them to show people we're dealing with (in particular, the sister in Christ that we want to approach about the land) what God is doing at Hope. Whether your story is dramatic or personal, it is one of many stories that we'd like to share to help Hope move forward. You can write it, send it via email to Hope Notes or Pastor Mark, or give it to him on this Sunday.
20somethings GROUP
Our group for 20 somethings young people will NOT meet this upcoming Friday (6/27) so that we can all fellowship at the Ice Cream Social! In addition, due to scheduling issues, we will take a short break this summer before returning to our group meetings in September. If you're in this age group and haven't been a part yet, look for some get togethers during the summer - and then DON'T miss our group when we start back up again!
CHURCH DIRECTORY
It's time to update our directory! If you would like to be included, or if your information has changed, please fill out the forms located in the back of church and give to Andrea Goeggel. Information needs to be turned in by July 19th.
